Hello everyone, my name is David Guillen! I’m humbled and excited to be the new physical education teacher beginning the ‘23-‘24 school year!

I bring 7 years experience of working with youth ranging from high school-aged students down to 1 year-old toddlers. A few titles I hold are husband, father, teacher, and coach (prior certified strength and conditioning specialist). My background includes participating in Texas athletics which ultimately led to success in cross country & track. I received athletic scholarships to attend UTSA and UTRGV and was even a semi-pro in obstacle course racing. I earned a degree in Exercise Science and decided to bring my expertise to physical education.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, drinking boba, having fun outdoors and completing home projects.

I’m looking forward to bringing joy, fun and fitness to the realm of Merrill Physical Education!
