Mrs. Clark has been with Denver Public Schools for 11 years and at Merrill for 5. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Multicultural Studies and Contemporary Issues and a Master’s in Global Studies, Humanitarian Relief. She is currently working on a Master’s in Autism.

Her experience with the Peace Corps took her to Jordan. She also worked with the United Nations in Refugee Services in Asia and Africa. Mrs. Clark loves Merrill because of the international flavor. She missed working with refugee kids internationally and now she has them in her own backyard!  And she gets to practice her Arabic!!

Her hobbies include travel, hiking, going to the mountains and spending as much time playing with my husband and two young daughters as she can

I have been a teacher for five years, and have taught grades 6-12 in that time. Of the five years, this is my fourth year with Denver Public Schools and my second year at Merrill Middle School. I attended the Colorado Institute of Art and Colorado State University before taking some time off to pursue a career in music. Eventually, I completed my bachelor’s degree at Metropolitan State University of Denver, majoring in History with a minor in Writing.

My favorite place to be is home with my wife, my daughter and son, our two cats, and the dog. Second would have to be standing in a sunshine-covered stream in the Rockies, fishing for trout. When there is free time I also enjoy writing and performing music, painting, drawing, sculpting, camping, reading non-fiction, and watching movies.

Having this opportunity to teach at Merrill is truly an honor. I love working with the students and educators at Merrill, and have intentions of staying within DPS for as long as possible.
