Hello, my name is Ernestina Masias and I am one of the sixth grade teachers here at Merrill.  I have worked in education for over 16 years in some form or fashion, 13 of which has been with Denver Public Schools.  As a classroom teacher, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic students in various grade levels.  Although I have lived in Florida and Hawaii, I am a native to Colorado and consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to receive my schooling here.  I received my B.A. in Behavioral Science from the University of Colorado at Denver, my Elementary Education Licensure through Metropolitan State College of Denver, and my Masters in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado at Denver.  I am a proud mother of two, wonderful daughters; one is a sophomore in college and the other is a junior in high school.  My hobbies and interests are many but almost always include spending time with family and friends.
