The Student Council at Merrill Middle School is the student voice of the school by which the students make lasting decisions on how to deal with school and community issues. The students focus on Service Learning. Service learning challenges the students to use knowlede and skills to solve real life issues intheir school and community.
The student council is represented by four students from each grade level 6th through 8th. Anyone may choose to apply to join the council.Tthe selection process occurs each fall. The students are notified of a vacant position. They compose an essay describing the contributions they could make to the school, the qualifications they possess and have exhibited the academic record which make them eligible to be a member of the council.
