Social Worker
| Our social worker, Judy Lev, has been at Merrill for 14 years. She is at Merrill full time, Monday through Friday. She sees students individually for short term problem solving or ongoing as needed. Students are referred to her by teachers, parents or as self-referrals. When students are distracted by concerns such as peer relationships, self esteem issues, and life situations, it impacts their ability to concentrate on academics and to reachtheir potential. Parents are welcome to phone her or come to her office for help. Assistance may relate to child, family, or school concerns, or to a need for resource development. She is also part of Merrill's Special Education team and completes social adaptive/emotional assessments for staffings. She is presently co-facilitating two weekly groups that support refugee and immigrant students. She would like to encourage parents to be sure that their children maintain consistent daily attendance and arrie at school on time. By doing so, your students will receie the greatest benefit from their Merrill education. | |
