This will be my third year at Merrill and my first year as Principal. With any first year transition there comes a certain amount of curiosity. First, I am a wife and Mother of two small boys. This role has afforded me the opportunity to navigate the educational system from both the perspective of “parent” and “teacher” ~ two very tough, but hugely rewarding career choices! Next, I have been in the Denver Public School system my entire career. I am a public school advocate and cheer leader for this diverse and exceptional district. I started as a teacher, spent several years as curriculum coordinator-, two years as assistant principal here at Merrill, and now, assume the duties and responsibilities as Principal.
I am dedicated to generating and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the greater Merrill community. This year we will focus on creating a highly skilled staff through professional development. This new and energized group of educators will in turn focus on maintaining a safe, orderly, and enriched environment for each and every student. Together we will provide more than just an opportunity to learn, we will pave the way for a lifetime of knowledge.
