The Peer Helpers program at Merrill includes culturally and liguistically diverse students who were nominated by their teachers to help with the orientation of new ELA students to the school and trained to answer common initial school questions.

Peer Helpers are ready to act as "buddies" to the new ELA students. They welcome new students to the school and provide them with a tour of Merrill, clarify expectations and explain rules.
