Hello Merrill Parent Group Members:
 
First, we'd like to thank Mr. Brian Weaver, Merrill's GT Specialist,  for attending and speaking at our monthly meeting last Thursday.
Thank you Mr. Weaver!
 
Second, we promised to let you all know how we did on both of our fundraising events.
 
BOOK SALE:   $354.75
As some of you know, our original Used Book Sale was held last Spring but because of a crazy Colorado snowstorm, our turnout wasn't what we had hoped for.  Ms. Miller was gracious enough to let us have a room at Merrill to store our books over the Summer.   Unlucky for us, our new Used Book sale date on October 10th, also brought us bad weather.  However, we're not giving up.  We have worked very hard at collecting these books so, "third times a charm".   Please look for our notice in the Spring for our third and final Used Book Sale.  We would appreciate any help that any of you can give at that time.
 
PIZZA SALES:  $3,363.00
Hurray!!  Prizes were given to students for most pizza kits sold.
1st place, Louis Trujillo, received an iPod Touch;
2nd place, Ethan Olree, received an iPod Nano;
3rd place, Madison Gawler, received an iPod Shuffle.
 
Thank you to all of the student who participated and thank you to our fundraising chair, Stephanie Gawler, who organized these MPG fundraisers.
 
Lastly, some of you have asked what we want and need MPG funds for.  This money is used for teacher events, student events and any other school function assistance that we are able to help with.  Decisions on where to spend the money is decided at our monthly meetings so, we encourage all of you to participate in what ever way possible.  Right now, we are considering purchasing a second mobile sports scoreboard, less than $400, to benefit multiple sports at our school.
