Dress Code

 

 

All clothing and Accessories:
*All logos must be 2 inches or less in diameter.
*Oversized garments are NOT allowed. Students may be sent home to change or may be loaned other clothes to wear

*Jewelry and accessories are acceptable (but no chains, dog collars, spiked items, and otherwise potentially dangerous items)

*Shoes must be worn at all times and may not constitute a hazard for the students (no very high heels, slippers, or heelies.)

*Headwear is not allowed in the building and should be put in lockers upon arrival at school (no hats, caps, bandannas, do-rags, etc.)

Hajabs are allowed

Coats:
*All heavy jackets/coats must be put in lockers upon arrival to school.
*Thin/lightweight jackets/vests for warmth may be worn over a collared shirt and must be of waist length. No hoods are allowed in any apparel.
*No short over jackets/vests or sweaters, all must be waist length.

Shirts/tops:

*Merrill Apparel must be the visible layer of clothing and tucked in, unless it is a Merrill sweatshirt.
* Must have a collar and not have a low v-neck that is revealing.
* Must be tucked in at all times and buttoned.
* Shirts must be solid, plaid or striped with a collar. Camouflage is not acceptable. Turtlenecks may be worn in place of a collared shirt.
* A collared shirt must be worn under any sweater or sweatshirt and tucked in.
*Tee shirts may not be worn over collared shirts.

Pants, slacks, shorts, skirts, and skorts
*Must fit at waist; sagging garments and pants or skirts that drag on the ground are not permitted.
*No sweat pants or nylon material, athletic style, gym style, or pajama style may be worn.
*Pants and slacks must be straight leg or medium flared. Rubberbands may not be worn around the ankles
*Any solid color, jean material that is not torn, not ripped and does not have large logos or patterns on it is acceptable. Camouflage is not acceptable.
* Students’ skirts, jumpers, skorts, and shorts must have a hemline two inches longer than the length of the student’s fingertips when arms are placed down by the side. No slits are allowed in skirts, jumpers, skorts, or shorts.  Dresses worn over pants must have a collar and have an appropriate hemline.

Belts:
*May NOT have any letters on them
*Must be worn inside belt loops and fit the pants or shorts
*May not hang below the loops; no dangling belts

Any exception request must be presented in writing to the principal before wearing the clothing.

Any clothing that disrupts learning is prohibited.

 
 

NO BACKPACKS (INCLUDING STRING BAGS) OR WINTER COATS ARE ALLOWED IN ANY CLASSROOM DURING THE SCHOOL DAY
