If a student becomes ill at school, he or she should report symptoms to their teacher. If the symptoms persist, the teacher may write a pass to the nurse, who will examine the student and decide on appropriate action. No student can enter the clinic without a pass.
All prescribed medication MUST be turned in to the nurse or main office, in the pharmacy container, with instructions on proper administration. According to Denver Public Schools’ policy, non-prescription drugs, such as aspirin or throat lozenges, cannot be given at school without written permission from the parents/guardians.
