MESA (Math, Science, Engineering Association) is a new club last year, sponsored by Pablo Joucovsky and Caryl Olson. The club met every week on Tuesdays for fun science activities, snacks, hanging out, possible field trips, and learning more about science. They are encouraged Spanish-speaking students, who often choose not to attend clubs, to be a part of this activity since Mr. Joucovsky is fluent in Spanish. Ms. Olson, a science teacher, will incorporate NRL racecar competition as an extra fun activity. The MESA program encourages minority students to pursue an interest in science and technology. The program will continue this year.
